On foosball tables, rod bearings serve as "sleeves" that house the rods and allow them to move horizontally, as well as spin when players turn the handles. There are several models of two-piece bearings and bushings, but this single-piece construction will serve most recreational tables just fine. If you are experiencing any sticking when manipulating the rods, try some silicone-based lubricant, or consider switching out your bearings.
